VentureHome Connect Mentor Pledge

As a mentor in the VentureHome Connect program, I pledge to:

1. Commit fully to the mentoring relationship, providing guidance and support to my mentee(s) with dedication and enthusiasm.

2. Uphold the shared values of WiSys VentureHome, including a focus on supporting entrepreneurs, community building, respect and openness, a long-term view, and fostering a culture of innovation.

3. Provide honest and constructive feedback to my mentee(s), communicating feedback and guidance respectfully and professionally.

4. Reasonably honor agreed-upon commitments and meetings with my mentee(s), explaining any necessary changes or cancellations.

5. Share my knowledge, experiences, and insights to help my mentee(s) achieve their goals and navigate challenges in their entrepreneurial journey.

6. Offer reasonable connections to my professional network when appropriate and beneficial to my mentee(s).

7. Empower my mentee(s) to make their own decisions by guiding them towards solutions rather than simply providing answers.

8. Respect boundaries regarding time commitments, communication channels, and the scope of the mentoring relationship.

9. Maintain professionalism by refraining from soliciting business, selling products, or offering personal counseling unrelated to professional or personal development.

10. Keep my mentor profile up-to-date with current information about my expertise, availability, and areas of focus.

11. Uphold the integrity of the VentureHome Connect program and contribute positively to the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the UW System regional campus communities.

By agreeing to this pledge, I commit to fulfilling these responsibilities to the best of my ability and to supporting the mission of WiSys VentureHome in facilitating scalable startups and fostering innovation.
