VentureHome Pre-seed Fund Application

The WiSys VentureHome Pre-Seed Fund invests in early-stage, pre-seed startups with scalable business models across Wisconsin. The fund is supported by capital from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and focuses on addressing critical gaps in the state's investment ecosystem:

1. Funding for first time founders originating outside of Wisconsin’s large metropolitan areas

2. Supporting pre-revenue companies with product launch and generating revenue

3. Scalable, tech companies (some with IP potential) that require additional product and market validation steps, resulting in longer runways before exit

4. Ideas with modest to large market size

To be eligible for the grant, startups must:

1. Be located in Wisconsin. Majority of the startup operations must be based in Wisconsin or should relocate to Wisconsin within 6 months and remain in the state for at least 3 years following funding

2. Must have a Board of Advisors or Directors

3. Have participate in at least one WiSys VentureHome program

4. Raised <$200k in private funding (not including non-dilutive funding)

5. Recommendation from local VentureHome partners or steering committee members
